Mind Body Detox Episode 99

Astrology for Empowerment: Archetypes, Cosmic Cycles & Authentic Leadership with Madi Murphy

In this episode of the Mind Body Detox Podcast, Kara Lovehart (Mind Body Psychic Medium & Executive Intuitive Coach) sits down with intuitive astrologer, empowerment mentor, and CosmicRx founder Madi Murphy. Together, they explore astrology as a tool for empowerment, collective awakening, and authentic living—bridging cosmic wisdom with real-world spirituality and conscious leadership.

Speaker: This is the Mind Body Detox Podcast where we discuss all things integrative health and wellness, interviewing folks from all over the world, sharing insights and wisdom for how to live a healthier life in mind, body, and spirit.

Kara Lovehart: Welcome back everyone to the Mind Body Detox podcast. I'm your host, Mind Body Psychic Medium, Kara Lovehart, and we have someone on the show today that we're excited to denounce because not only are we gonna be interviewing her about her book, about what she does some incredible things for about her as an astrologer.

But we're gonna have her book that just came out and I'll announce it in a second. We are gonna be having her book for our spiritual steep book club for October. So you don't wanna miss this. Not only if you're like, Hey, I don't have time to read a book right now, it's not a big deal. We're gonna interview Maddie, we're gonna enjoy her.

She's incredible. And I'm going to of course give you a sneak peek as well coming up of what more is to come for our spiritual steep book club. So we have a lot of authors lined up and this is our first one for our fall. So Maddie Murphy is the guest we have today and she's an intuitive astrologer.

Guys. We love the Astrology Empowerment Mentor and the founder of Cosmic Rx. So this is about being on purpose, unapologetically being yourself and being authentic. So we talk a lot about that on the show. So this is perfect vibes for us. And so Maddie has a little bit over a decade of experience working in featured in Vogue, the New York Times, as well as the Mind Buddy Green Bogue and well, and.

And she is the host of Cosmic RX Radio, and I was just listening to her podcast on a long road trip over the weekend, and I'm going to like start us off with just some of her magic yummy quotes because of wordsmith and very creative in her essence. So I'm excited to share with that. Also, we are also going to dive into a little bit more about astrology.

We've talked about that a lot on the podcast. You know, that, that is how I live my life. It is a guiding light for me, but we're gonna talk about what happens when you get to. Stuck. How can we use astrology when we feel stuck in our lives? So let's start off with one of the quotes I listened to from her latest podcast episode.

We'll have all the information in the show notes 'cause you definitely wanna check out. This is one of the top podcasts in spirituality rankings for her. And that is something I would put in the show notes for you guys to check out as well. So we're in Moon and Aquarius today, and according to Maddie Moon and Aquarius Times, this is her quote, we are connecting with our soul squad, letting our freak flag fly and brainstorming new ideas, joining a collective cause.

'cause goddammit, we need it more than ever. And you guys know how much I'm all about these Aquarius energy, like my son being in the 11th house. It's Aquarius time. It's our time to really lean into each other, lean into community, lean into the collective, and I'm really excited to jump off. That's a starting point with that as we bring Maddie on the show today.

Hello, Maddie. Nice. Nice. See you. Thank you so much for being here.

Madi Murphy: What an intro. I'm laughing. I have chills. I'm a little teary-eyed. You, you just hit all the emotional notes there. Thank you so much for having me on. This is such a treat.

Kara Lovehart: Oh, your cancer rising is showing. Um, yes. So one of the things we talked about on the show before Maddie, of course, is we talk about astrology.

We talked about using astrology for empowerment, astrology beyond the horrible scopes as I call them. Just the basic stuff. And you know, one of the things that I know that we're in this, this time where this Aquarius energy is really loud and clear within the collective, within our own beings. So for our audience, first I wanna just dive into the energy and setting, the stage for the show.

For today? Mm-hmm. What collective thing do you feel that you are moving into right now to collectively support this awakening on the planet? Where are you going? And then we're gonna go into your background and how you got into astrology.

Madi Murphy: Wow, that's such a delicious question to chew on. I think right now it's sort of a twofold answer.

I think it's the purpose that I have felt really lit up by, and really started to come into slow but steady focus in maybe 20 15, 20 16. But now I feel really embodied in it, which is really empowering, what I call like the heart centered. Creatives, the change makers, the artists, to figure out their role in this revolution because we are in a great re-imagining of our society right now, and there's a lot that doesn't feel good.

But because we know we are in like the complete burning it down, but also in that is this opportunity to think about, well, what do we wanna rebuild? And I love working with the mystics, the witches, the weirdos, all the people who felt like the outcast in the previous system and structure to now, feel empowered in their authentic self to find their alignment, to find their embodied self, so they could bring something forward out into this collective moment.

And then in the micro, for me personally, I had just said to you before this recording, what's next is all of that. I've been doing it on the podcast, on, the digital EERs for years now. And I'm really excited to return to my roots, which is really in person. High impact, conscious, sacred, but like fun gatherings, right?

Because that's like what my soul is so ready for.

Kara Lovehart: Yeah, yeah, totally. It's so funny. So my background is like totally being very anchored in community, in physical broken mortar space and running a business for 13 years and like growing my clinic and now it's like, hey, I have time and space now over the last three years to start doing the online stuff.

And it's so great and refreshing that more and more people are like, no, we went in person. Let's do retreats, let's do gatherings. He's like, thank God. Like we've been, I've been waiting. I've been waiting. So, yeah. And one of the things that I wanted to kind of segue into, you know, talking about this revolution, this, we're building this new space as a collective.

Part of that collective is understanding our consciousness and understanding it through tools like astrology. And from what I understand, your segue into this realm, part of that was actually seeing an astrologer that didn't necessarily give you the best reading. And I think one of the things that's such a pet peeve for me.

Being a psychic medium, being in this space for over 20 years now, I know that it's like part of us so much, we have so much power we could give or take away from someone by just what we say. So when I read that and I was like, oh, my blood's boiling. I can't wait to ask her about this. So I would love you to share this story of what happened with your journey in speaking with an astrologer for your time with that person.

Madi Murphy: Absolutely. Yeah. So, um, it, it's funny how all of these things, I think why I love astrology and, and, and so much of this journey I've been on is you see all of these threads of your life that seems sort of random or like disparate at the time. And then you see, you know, with hindsight when you're paying attention and you're in that place of self-awareness and openness and following that thread, how it was like leading you to somewhere right to, to your embodied purpose, to who you're here to be.

And I loved astrology. From afar. You know, as a child, my aunt was really into it as, you know, like a lot of people listening, I'm sure just that intuitive little baby mystic running around. You know, I kind of shed all of that for so many reasons. Out of fear, out of feeling like you need to fit in. Um, in my, my twenties and then in my early thirties, um, and like kind of smack dab my Saturn return a woman approached me in a local like gym, sauna spa place that I would, I would hang out in the winters.

And, um, she's like, I love to read your chart. Good, good. Great. And I had just gotten like, open back into spirituality. So I feel like I also was just, had no boundaries. My energy was like really open and I probably was like, yes. Like, oh my gosh, like just like all over my forehead. Like, I need your advice.

I need you to tell me about me. Like I was in that place of a little bit more of looking outside of myself. For the answers, which is, you know, baby Maddie, I, I, I offer her a lot of compassion. And one of the things that really always, I had a, like a little bit of a wound or a leakiness on my power around was this idea of having children for a lot of reasons.

But one of them was I called off my wedding two weeks before my Saturn return, not knowing that was happening. And it was the first moment in my life that I chose myself. I chose making everyone around me uncomfortable. In the name of my truth. And it was so freeing. It was so clarifying. It was so effing terrifying.

But I felt good about it. But one of the things in the back of my mind that would sit there was like, well, now you've set back your timeline. And you know, like, you know, in our traditional, like western society, it's like TikTok. Like if you wanna, you know, have children and have a career and all this stuff, like you gotta do it by a certain age.

And I think there was a part of me that knew that, I don't think that's really true. My, my heart, my gut feels like I, I'm, I'm following a good path. But once in a while I would creep in there. I sit down for this astrology reading, and the woman, of course, I'm like, how, what's my purpose? Is it ever gonna work out?

Am I ever gonna make money? Am I always gonna be this broke? I'm so confused, you know, and I'm just like, blah on her. And then she's like, yeah. She's like, oh, what about children? Do you want children? I was like, oh, I do, but you know, at the right time with the right man and the right sense of myself. And she's like, if that's not really like part of your path and it's gonna be very difficult and it's gonna bring you a lot of heartbreak and heartache. And I just sat there and it was like, talk about just having like your worst fear confirmed. And she was explaining to me it's 'cause I have Pluto and Saturn in my fifth house and Scorpio.

And of course like my stomach just dropped and it was just like hearing your worst fear confirmed in black and white in front of you from a complete stranger. Um, and I walked away from that reading and I was like, obviously so sad and just so empty feeling. But like, you know, I went to one of my like, places on the beach and I just remember like praying and crying and talking to my guides and my, my grandma Helen and like, um, so I'm crying now thinking about it and I was like, I just have to believe and like trust that like if that's meant for me and I desire it, it will happen.

But like, good God. That was so scary. And, and then I started thinking my like Virgo brain is like, well, what. Why is that? Why did she say that? So I started to pull on the thread of being like, I kind of know something there isn't, right? Um, so then I started busting out. I went from being like high level into astrology, like, oh, kind of interested in signs here, there, or picking up little things to picking up like textbooks, like super dry, technical astrology books, and just started to be like, okay, I wanna teach myself this.

And you know, the spoiler alert of it all is, you know, now I have two beautiful, very healthy, amazing boys. And we'll talk about, I think I now understand the Pluto and Saturn of it all in my fifth house, um, in Scorpio. And of course, you know, my first son is a Scorpio. My second born is a Scorpio rising.

So it's always like, I'm actually really grateful for that reading because it taught me about. Trusting my own self and my discernment. And it also taught me something I share with my clients and my mentees, which is the power of sacred rage to like Yeah, fuel you in your industry, because that is actually what fueled me to wanna be an empowering astrologer for others because of that reading.

Kara Lovehart: Yeah, no, I love the villains. The villains in our journey because they're totally the heroes in disguise. Like what a really great soul contract. I have this same experience. Totally. We have a metaphysical bookstore that we work with that's been open here since 1987, and one of their incredible astrologers he taught astrology was doing it forever.

He's a Capricorn. It's integrity, integrity, integrity. And we had this whole thing about integrity in this field. Like there's so much riff wrap and interesting things that do happen. And of course that's incredible too. It's like the diversity of life. And he said to me, you know, all of this stuff is, an art form of interpretation.

But also I love this quote from him that the astrology chart of a rich man and a poor man is always the same. It's how you're playing the cards. And I was like, oh, thank you. So like what that person read, could have totally been based on their interpretation, their experience, right. But also it filled so much of your, where you are now.

And I really honor that, I really relate to that in the field of integrity when it comes to readings, a, as a medical intuitive, as a intuitive professional. So, yeah. And I think I have a lot of Pluto vibes too. 'cause I have Pluto in my fifth house in Scorpio, so of course it's intensely transformational work.

Like it's always intensely. Intensely.

Madi Murphy: Yeah. And it really taught me to befriend those planets and this sign. Exactly. I love that quote. It's so perfect about like, you know, having the same chart. Yeah. I think that all the time. Like no good charts, no bad charts, but like what we do with them. And I'm very grateful that something in me, even though I was like so confused and untethered and lost, I'm happy that there was something in me that chose to be like, okay, I'm gonna let this like.

Work with this energy versus just feeling like defeated. And this is my story forever now.

Kara Lovehart: Yeah. And also what a gift, being a Virgo with the intentional, like the heightened detail oriented nature of what you were learning. Like I'm sure like that just, that's just, wow, this chap's kiss to everything you're doing.

So yeah, let's dive into Pluto. Okay. So I wanted to kind of put this later in, but we are kind of talking about transformation and all this intensity at this moment. So for our audience, I'd love for you to share, you know, Pluto in general for those who don't know what it is, what it represents, and how it's kind of coming up in the world right now.

Because we're seeing so much intense and transformation and change and, and of course this power dynamic, it's like, oh, it's all about power. Where is the power being taken away? Is it, is it victim consciousness is empowerment consciousness. And according to some of the astrologers I talked to. Pluto's out of bounds now, so I, I think it'll be a really cool commentary to see like your take on all this and how you work with your community and your podcast.

Like what are the things that you're sharing for people when they ask that question about Pluto?

Madi Murphy: Hmm. Yeah. It's so good. It's so funny. I love that. Like, it's always very meta to me of like how astrology just sort of flavors the tone of things. And I'm like, of course, our whole conversation is about Pluto.

We're talking about Aquarius right now as Pluto is an Aquarius. It's like, of course, it's just like the backdrop of everything that we're doing and feeling right now, especially people who are intuitive, open, attuned. And you know, it's interesting, like the reason I even have my community right now and why I decided to build a larger digital community and just kind of gathering people is because a few years ago, um, in 2017, I started to study like, oh, this, this thing called Pluto and Aquarius is coming

pluto for a little reminder, little like meet and greet with the planets. Pluto is casually referred to as Lord of the underworld, um, the planet. That is, you know, even in the very nature of us talking about like, is Pluto a planet? Is it not? It is a planet, astronomy, me and astronomers and NASA have their own issue, but it's so like meta for us to not even know what's going on with Pluto, because Pluto really rules the shadows and the unseen and the things that get murky.

And I think a lot about Pluto again, is. You know, where we kind of shove things below the surface like a, like a garbage disposal. Like we don't wanna look at certain things that they're shadowy, they're taboo, they're usually involving the misuse, abuse of power. But then Pluto one day is like the garbage disposal backs up.

And we're like, you're gonna look at everything now. But it is, if we allow it to be, it really is for our highest good. It's for our collective evolution and revolution. And I heard an astrologer one time say that Pluto is the collective energy of Mars. Like if Mars is individual anger and movement and passion and drive then Pluto is like that happening on a larger collective scale.

And what I love about, I think like studying these cycles of astrology. Teaches me so much about what it means and what we're headed into. Like looking back to understand where we're at, where we're going. So I started to see, oh, okay, we're in Pluto. Uh, we're gonna enter Pluto in Aquarius. And Aquarius, of course, rules, community rules innovation.

Um, it's like Aquarius is technology. Aquarius is, um, the higher mind, you know, Aquarius is inclusivity. It's, it's like, let, let's look at things, be more progressive. Um, but it's also very ancient. It rules like ancient technologies in terms of higher consciousness. It rules so many interesting things.

It's so, it's so Aquarian. But I was like, oh, what is this gonna mean? Look going into that. So you go way back and like, oh, the last time Pluto was an Aquarius. Um, you know, other cycles of it. We had things like the French Revolution, the Haitian Revolution. Yeah, like the beginning of living in the United States under the Declaration of Independence and really what did this mean here?

To live in this democracy quote unquote. And I was like, oh, that's interesting. And then I started looking at Pluto Cycles that I have lived through in my lifetime, and it's like, oh, Pluto, when Pluto moved into Capricorn, the sign of business and society and structures and more traditional patriarchal energy, I'm like, oh wow.

We had like the housing economic, the mortgage collapse, we had occupy Wall Street, we had everything Obama, it's Me Too movement. Like all these things, you're like, whoa. And then before that, like Pluto and Sagittarius, we had a lot of things come up around Sagittarius rules, churches and religion. And we had a lot of things about the Catholic church come out.

But we also had like, kind of the excess of Pluto and Sagittarius. Like more is more, is what we sort of. We're paying for a little bit as we moved into Pluto and Capricorn. So right now with this energy of Pluto and Aquarius, it's like, it is such a time to be in community. It is such a time to think about what's the high consciousness, high octaves of aqua energy, um, and how can we embody that?

But knowing full well that Pluto will go to every end of the spectrum, the high, the low, the shadow, the light, and wants us to like really look at it all. And I don't know if it's just because in a very meta Pluto and Aquarius fashion, more people have, I believe, have access to astrological wisdom than ever before on the planet, like at once because of technology.

Because of social media. The apps, the softwares chat, GBT, then I'm like, it just feels like it's pulsating with Pluto and Aquarius Energy. I feel like, I dunno if you feel this way at every turn, I'm like, that is so literally Pluto and Aquarius. Like these things happen. Yes. Everything from like our alien, you know, alien information coming out to like techno fascist fighting for control.

I'm like, whoa. Like even like a few years ago when I started being like, I think this is coming, I could have never imagined that we'd be having conversations right now about like. AI having consciousness.

Kara Lovehart: Yeah. Yeah. It's totally in their everyday life. The oddball, right? The oddball energy of Uranus, like planted the rules.

Aquarius. It's like this so weird. Like, why are your rings that way? Why, why are we doing this? We gotta centrify everything. It's aliens. I'm not surprised. I love it. I'm here for it. I'm totally here for it. I've been waiting for this moment. I feel like my entire life.

Me too. Well, I think that's how like all

Madi Murphy: people, like I said, the witchy weirdos we're all like, yeah, let's get your Ronnie, let's get weird. Like all us type of people were like from the get go. Like, I don't think this is like what our life's about. Like, just like pay bills and die and like sit in a cubicle.

We're like, I don't think so. So

Kara Lovehart: yeah. Absolutely. And that's where like, so we have a community here at Firefly Hollow. We have like a local conscious connection social club where we'd like go do shit together. Like let's go to other amazing businesses, let's go dancing, let's go to different spas, let's go to do conscious things that are really supportive for us.

And also like everyone is welcome. Like it's this creating a I hate to say safe space 'cause that's sort of charged sometimes, but like a supportive space. Like where can we have that for people? And I'm so grateful of. Having my Aries son in the 11th house. 'cause I feel like it's all together, everyone together, not, typical Aries me, it's, it's lets together we, and I just feel like this is the time I've been, I feel like I've been as Aries leadership per personality.

Yes. I've been kind of like calling people, Hey, do you wanna come play in the group for years, like for a decade. And, and you know, some people, but they're just not as responsive and I'm always like, oh, where are they? And now they're just coming and coming and Yes, yes. And it's so amazing.

Madi Murphy: Yes.

With your, we said your Aries and 11th house you have, when you said that I was like, oh, trailblazer, leader of community. Like, you know, you go into that like astro shorthand when you said that, so I love that you've been like, leading the charge and, and similarly like I feel just from getting to go to like stumbling upon some really cool workshops and seminars in New York City about what was happening ahead 2020.

Great Capricorn Convergence and Pluto, Aquarius. And I'm sitting there like, I'm just trying to learn about my moon sign. And I'm like, I have a lot of information now. Like I would leave and I would like try and explain it to people. I was like, there's gonna be a downfall in Hollywood and leaders are gonna topple and we're gonna move forward and the weirdos we're gonna take over.

But there's gonna be a lot of stuff to deal with and shadow from our society. And everyone's like, ma'am, this is a CVS. Like, what are you talking about? And I'm so, and that's one of the reasons I started the podcast, started the community. 'cause I was like bursting at the seam to be like, oh, this thing's happening.

And now, even when I started writing this book, it was like two years ago, you know how the process goes. And my publishers were kind of like, in the beginning I talk about this moment in time and they were kinda like, I guess like, sure. And now right as it was coming out, just the fever pitch that we're in right now of feeling like we're all.

There's no denying that we're in some huge shift, right? Like, I don't care how tuned in or how, you know, mystical or cosmic or progressive or politically knowledgeable you are. Yes. Like, I think anyone would just agree. So yeah, it's fun. It's, um, it's, and it's, I think maybe you feel the same way. It's helped me really validate for myself, but also people I work with of like trusting in that vision or the intuitive knowing even when everyone around you, it was just like.

Kara Lovehart: What? Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. And that trusting is like a really important part. 'cause I think that you know, I'm curious to check about your experience. I mean, of course I've started reading your book. We're reading it for our book club. Shout out to you guys listening, come join the book club.

'cause Maddie's gonna then do a live q and a in a month. I'll show you details. It's so fun. But yeah. So the book in the cosmic zone, so this is your book if anyone can see it. Little glare here. But you know, I was learning about this whole process of like being blocked and feeling like you're blocked and like, wow.

And I had this really leaning into this space of divine timing in my journey as an Aries. Like, I'm impatient, I want this now. You know, I've learned to kind of rock into that as I have a Capricorn moon, so I'm more balanced in that way. But there's been this part of me that's like. Hey, I'm waiting for this.

I feel so blocked, especially with the Pluto stuff. So I love that you just went through your Pluto Square mm-hmm. And you ended up having two babies and you birthed this book, right. You, you're totally now past that. I am directly in the middle. I might wanna end in December, 2026. So it's been incredible lessons of like, everything that you have no control over is just happening to you.

What a great lesson to surrender. But that feeling of being stuck, I know that our listeners can relate to that either at this time in their lives or maybe in the past or, and it will happen to potentially again. So tell us a little bit about the tides of astrology and how you've allowing the trust, that word trust, to allow yourself to really sink into what.

The astrological chart or people's transits support them with understanding that quote unquote stuck or divine timing for them.

Madi Murphy: Absolutely. You know, I love that. And one of the things I, open the book talking about is just our sense of time. And I think I cannot be alone in this, but I think for the first part of my life, I was always just like up against some clock, right?

It was like invisible clock. Like I'm not on time, I'm behind on time, literally my day. Like I'm running behind, or I'm in the grand scheme of life, like I should be somewhere else. Right now, I'm losing time. And one of the things through my astrological studies, but also through studying you know, through the shamanic wheel is the study of like Kronos time, which is like very Saturnian time, and then going to like chiros, like mythical time.

Whereas mythical time is also that feeling of like how time isn't real. Like why does five minutes with your best friend go by in an instant laughing and chatting, whereas like five minutes waiting, you know, at the DMV or a Jiffy Loop, like under fluorescent lighting, I feel like it's an hour, right?

So we have this already, this concept of like, time is weird, it's a little shifty. And then we look at time in our life, not like this linear journey of we're going from point A to point Z, but that we're instead, I always visualize it, and this is why I love like the wheel of the birth chart and the medicine wheel in shamanic studies, is that we're in this like spiral time, like a golden spiral staircase.

I picture us like moving around time and you know, we go in these patterns of like, oh I feel like I've learned this lesson before, but it's, I'm. I'm at it again. But maybe now I have more tools, some awareness, a little bit more empowerment, more clarity where I can learn that lesson a little faster.

I may move up the staircase quicker this time, or maybe I've decided to self-sabotage and I'm going on a downward spiral that happens too. And I always felt that way, right about like when I started to understand my journey in my life. But then really again, going into that next level of astrology, 'cause there's really.

Entry points with astrology, right? There's the horrible scope. I love that. I always call it the horror scope. So it's like there's a horror scope of like, and then there's, learning about your own chart and your moon sign, your rising. That's really empowering. And then there's learning about your cycles, right?

Your astrological activations, your transits, and that like the patterns of studying your life, of being like, oh, I'm in, you know, a Jupiter return right now. 12 years ago I was going through the same thing. What can I learn from that moment? What are the opportunities that came? What were the obstacles that came?

How can I use that to navigate, this part of my life with, again, more open eyes, open heart, right energy, or for me, just reminding ourselves that we're really on this mythical journey. Like that's like, I think one of my. Weird things I've just understood since as a small girl is that everyone has magic in them and that our lives are, a mythical journey.

Like it feels so mundane and that's part of life, but that when we understand, we're like, oh, we're in. This is not just happening randomly to me, right? There's these larger, you know, archetypal energies at play, and it's up to me to be writing the story that I want, and life is happening through me, not just to me.

Which I guess anyone could do without astrology, but for me, my Virgo brain loves the organization. The ability to name and articulate and really understand like, oh, okay, even in a season, oh, we're in Virgo season. What have I learned in the past few Virgo seasons about myself? It could be as simple as that.

It could be as simple as tracking your, you know, the faces of the moon in the course of a month. Um, so really like when you're wanna understand your divine timing, you could just feel like, okay, you know what? Everything's feeling really stuck right now. Lemme check my chart. Oh, you know why? Because I'm actually in a moment of life where I'm supposed to be stuck.

I'm supposed to be slowing down. Yeah. And looking at something so it doesn't feel like the universe is punishing you. You don't have to internalize something like, oh, that's it. I've effed up my life forever, or, I knew this was too good to be true. Now everything's stuck. It's like, no, no, no. Maybe you're stuck because you're being asked to go into the cocoon, into the chrysalis and, and emerge.

But instead of pushing and forcing the old path, maybe your chart has a little insight of like, oh, you're stuck, but this opportunity is waiting for you. Why chills like the being stuck? Are you stuck? Or are you just being forced to slow down and turn to another part of your chart and your heart that will really help you expand into an even more brilliant.

Blooming blossoming, you know, fully evolved version of you.

Kara Lovehart: Yeah, I cannot tell you. So I am gonna share a brief story here for the audience to kind of relate to real world situations because it is as astrology in my own chart and understanding it. Has been the game changer of why I'm not insane. Me too.

Why I'm not insane. Because I had a Pluto moon conjunction in 2022 and that doesn't happen. That many people. And it's in the eighth house. Yeah, in the eighth house. When you

Madi Murphy: said cat moon, I was like, how are you doing? Yeah,

Kara Lovehart: yeah, yeah. And I, you know, like it was the first trajectory. Like I, in my astrologer of working with her, she's been doing it for 55 years.

I've been working with her every year and like, let's look at what's going on. And because I had already known these cycles and things that are coming up in themes and put them in my calendar and journal about them, I'm seeing these cycles like you're talking about. But the Pluto moon conjunction was one like a once in a lifetime thing.

And the energy of a it, I got used to, this is intense. This is completely not feeling in control inside a complete transformation. And then with this Pluto Square coming back around it's interesting because I was like, okay, when's the first hit in my chart? Obviously it's gonna segue in. It's not a fast moving planet.

But once the first hit, the exact first hit happened on a day, I found out someone that I was working with was anti-Semitic and they were stealing services and we actually had to end up bringing someone in to fire them. First person I had to fire greatest soul contract on planet because I was like, wow, this is so much my level up.

I love this person to death for this, this experience. Obviously it was raging at the time, but I'm like, no, this is amazing. Second one I was like, where's the second hit coming? And I had it on my calendar and I thought it came and it went and it didn't happen the exact day. So I was like, I wonder what it's gonna be like.

It's gonna be similar to that vibe. We'll see. But it was the very next day, our 23rd annual expo that we run, we got, um, our wonderful webmaster ended up getting some sort of. Computer malware virus that spread to all his devices. He got locked out of our server. Oh my God. We couldn, couldn, get into the server.

He couldn't. We had the FBI involved. We actually couldn't continue to sell booths. We couldn't continue to look at the contracts that came in. We couldn't look at any of our new vendor applications. And we got grant funds this year for spending. So we were like, ah, sponsorships, sales were down so much because we couldn't actually get in there to change even the marketing.

And so it was the second hit. I was like, okay. All right. And every time I was like. It's just surrender to this. I'm learning a PhD in fucking surrender right now. And then the third hit, you know, was 'cause it's been retrograding. So the third hit was my son having some stuff going on. Like totally fifth house, Pluto is, where there it is.

My children, they're gonna have some stuff. And I am so grateful for that awareness 'cause it's been being able to work with different modalities, different coaching, healing, plant medicine's, been my jam so much. Transformation, my chiron's in the 12th house. So of course I'm gonna be doing, you know, some interesting mystical things for healing.

And it's been. It's been like, what would we do without it? We'd be insane.

Madi Murphy: No, truly. Oh my gosh. First of all, I'm so happy that you're, having astrology to guide you through all that. 'cause that's what I'm saying. We can internalize that. If all that's happening, you'd be like, well, you know what? I must have just pissed off some powerful witch in a past life, and now I am at, because this is insane.

This level of like, bad luck. And so you realize, you're like, oh, okay. Like there, there's context to it. There's also an ending to it. There's also a lesson that we can learn. Like you said, I love a PhD. 'cause I always talk about Earth School. I'm like, oh, here we go. Like, I'm going through the finals in Earth School right now about in something.

Right? And like, and it really helps us, again, understand that mythical journey. That we're not being punished, that we are not like, de dejected or rejected by the universe. It's just like an hero's journey, heroin's journey, mythical journey. It's like this is just another. Moment of meeting, either like the villain or the big obstacle.

And it's up to me to decide, you know, how I wanna navigate that. But like, to me, I could never do that if I didn't understand astrology. 'cause I would just be like, I would be victimized, exhausted, confused where you said like, I love what you said about, then you get to choose a modality from there. I always say astrology is like the framework, it's the great container, cosmic container, store of understanding of what, but I go into my bins, then I'm like, oh, okay.

I'm going through a Scorpio transit. I better go deep into like my, yeah. Shamonic plant. I gotta go into the subconscious, the NLP. Oh, I'm going through an Aries transit. Okay. Time to activate. Like my courage, my bad bitch energy, my, my fire. Okay. Like, how do I do this? So I love that you shared some real life examples because it's, that's exactly it.

It's not that like you learn this information and nothing bad. Like my Pluto Square, I, I. Talked about, you know, I went through a lot of birthing, but I also went through, um, when I looked up my exact dates, I looked it up after, of course, because sometimes as an astrologer I don't even take my own medicine.

I'm getting the exact dates ahead of time. And I was like, Ooh, wow. The first date was literally the day I conceived my son of my point below square. The, like midpoint was when I actually birthed my second son. 'cause they're Irish twins, like in a year. Uh, the conception of my first son, the birth of my second son.

And then the last, and like finally like the end of my Pluto Square was the day my mom passed away and she's an Aquarius and was in my Aquarion house. Or Pluto was squaring my fifth house. And I was like, but it was like a long journey and it was actually really as, her passing could not have been more empowering to us as a family because we got to really take charge of her care after some abuse, misuse, things happening.

We got to like really clear a lot of family karma. We got to have a really beautiful, like shamanic sendoff for her a year of being really intentional with her care. So when she passed, it was upsetting, but it wasn't this like. It wasn't traumatic, it wasn't jarring. It actually was really liberating and freeing in a way.

So again, like, I'm not saying that like, oh, you learn astrology and nothing ever bothers you and nothing bad happens again. But you can understand like the poetry of it all. You can see the love that's available in certain moments. You can see the wisdom and the guidance that's there. Yeah, so I love hearing the real life examples as an astrologer.

It's one of my favorite things of like, tell me how that transit played out for you.

Kara Lovehart: Yeah, yeah. That's so great. And I'm so grateful that your journey also, you know, that perspective. That growth mindset of looking at it from this perspective of its the empowerment opportunities. And I'm also glad just to say, just to give some love to that journey who you're losing your mom.

Like having that space in that awareness to be with her and to create that empowerment space if there was abuse and things going on. That's incredible. There's a lot of, it really was malpractice, maltreatment, things that do happen. I don't know what the situation is, but you know, just having things like that would be incredible.

And yeah. Having the awareness to be in that space, so Yeah. But these 12 zodiac signs that they are, in your book, we're talking about these as the archetypes, and you're talking about, you said about your Aries transit. You're talking about, I'm gonna get activated and

courageous. Would you be able to share with us about how the, in the cosmic zone talks about the 12. Zodiac type archetypes and what your take on them are for our listeners. 'cause we're gonna read your book, girl. We're reading it and we're having you back, girl. So keep, you know, I'm totally excited.

Yeah. Start taking some notes already. Yeah. So I'm gonna hold it up again. It says, in the cosmic zone, embody the 12 astro archetypes to unleash your genius and activate your authentic self. So I would love for you to share a little bit about that.

Madi Murphy: Yeah. So, um, you know, I love archetypal work. To me it feels like you're playing cosmic costuming, like divine dress up for the soul of like, hey whether it's archetypal work or working with goddesses or, you know, archetypes in nature.

I have a very, I'm a Pisces moon, so my Virgo son loves the like. I can just shapeshift and like step in different versions of myself through archetypal embodiment. So that was like something that was happening, you know, while I was studying astrology. And when I started studying more shamanic astrology where they go into the zodiac sciences archetypes, I was like, oh, that really just spoke to me.

Because it's talking about your soul journey and how working with these archetypes can really expand you and, and help em embody, you know, and anchor your whole chart. And when I started writing this book, there's so many routes you can go, right? And I was had, you know, it's a separate story, but I had been approached to write a book and it was like, Hey, can you write this book about this subject?

And I was like, yes. And I went into with the mode and it was so grind, it was so clenched, it was so stressed out. And I was like, you know what? This is not how I wanna write a book. I wanna write a book that just like kind of flows out of me and like is in the state, like the frequency and the vibration that I want people to be in when they're reading the book.

So one day it really like hit me that as I'm working with people to understand their birth charts, that like, as they begin to understand that they carry all 12 signs within their chart. No one on the planet earth is missing a sign on the chart. No one on planet Earth has like more zodiac signs on the other, you know, we have planets, we have placements, we have angles, we have asteroids that influence like a, a cosmic cocktail, but all the same ingredients, you know, how it manifests in us and, and therefore what our bigger lessons are and our strengths and our, our obstacles and the things we're working through.

But I started to understand that like this archetypal energy was available to all of us. So for me, I brought up the Aries before. I love that you're an Aries. Because I am, you know, I'm very, you saw, I was already crying in the podcast. My Pisces Moo, my cancer rising, my Virgo growing up, I really felt into like that good girl archetype.

Like I'm the oldest of four girls. I'm like, let me just. Kind of choose everyone else's comfort over mine. It was basically the story up until my Saturn return. Um, and it was around like after my Saturn return and starting to understand this archetypal energy, I started to be like, oh, my sister, who's an Aries, she is the baddest bee.

I know. She does not give an f Like she in the best way possible, she sticks up for what she believes in. She is super courageous. She is super, like, always does the right thing and speaks up for injustices. And she just walks into a room and it's like all eyes on her. And I'm like, that's so cool. And my whole life I was like, I just wanna be more like her, more like her.

And then when I started realizing that I had Aries in my 10th house of career, I'm like, oh, what? And then I started realizing every year at Aries season I could almost like step into this energy. And even if I had to fake it till I make it. Understand what's working in there and almost like take the challenges from the universe.

You know, take the invitations, take the Earth School, cosmic assignments, and being like, okay, even though I don't feel this right now, I am gonna step into this area energy. It started making, it was like I started really having this embodied experience of my own bad be, of my own warrior, of my own trailblazer, initiator, just the energy that I so admired in my sister.

And when I started doing that for each of the signs and teaching other people about it through my podcast and my mentoring, I was like, this is so powerful and it's really fun. Yeah. And I, what I like about it is that the archetypal work, and I chose to write this book through the lens of keys because, um, I do mention some like archetypes, like, you know, kind of like titles in there, like the cosmic tricks or the Bad B.

Um, but I liked kind of looking at this as like, what if. Every single problem we face as humans from living our fullest expression. It kind of goes down to like 12 universal blocks, in my opinion, after studying people and doing thousands of readings and sitting with so many people. And they all correlate to a Zodiac sign that can unlock them.

So what if we just did that and just reminded people that you had every single key you needed within you. It was just about awareness, about cultivating that, about just having more, again, clarity, practical tools around it. And when I like had this aha, I was like, oh, that's the book. And it just like poured out of me from session notes and workbooks and things I had done with my clients.

And the last thing I'll say about this is that I didn't really know what I was doing, I was just putting it together. It was like the book was like cart before the horse. It was just like, it was writing itself. And I was like, what is this? What's the theme? How am I saying this out into the world?

And I was like, oh. I realized that after I wrote it and, and everything. And I had some of my friends like read it and gimme their feedback. Um, I had had one of my friends over to read it and she was waiting for me and she was picking up an old astrology book that I have on my bookshelf, and she opened to a page and she's an Aries, a Venus and Aries, and she was reading about her Venus and Aries and she just got this dejected look on her face, like, and she was like, oh God.

It's an old school book, so it was a little nihilistic and it was saying something that I think just did not make her feel good. And that moment I was like, oh, I understood why I wrote this book in this way for my first book of just wanting this to be a roadmap to all its archetypal energy.

I wanted this to be an astrology book that doesn't seek to define you. But that hopes to align you, because I'm like, I don't wanna tell you who you are. Like sometimes that's fun to read about yourself. Like, Ooh, I'm a Pisces moon, I'm so watery and emotional. Like, mm. And it can be escapism.

I'm like, yeah, okay. But I'm like, I've read a lot of books like that. I want it to be a book of like, choose your own adventure with this. I'm not here to tell you who you are, but I would love to help align you to your fullest self.

Kara Lovehart: Yeah. And that nothing could be more empowering than that.

Especially right now, because the authentic self and being in, that part of yourself we need roadmaps. We need so many roadmaps for it. So that's it. Yeah. So guys, if you're listening to this, you're gonna get the book. Okay. I am telling you, you're gonna get the book.

Now, is this gonna be available on audio book Maddie?

Madi Murphy: It is. I actually had the pleasure and the huge honor. I got to record it myself, which my Chiron, yes. Thank

Kara Lovehart: God

Madi Murphy: my Chiron is in Gemini in the 12th house. Mine too. Mine. Mine too. Well, right, so, okay, because you, so we are, we are very similar, like in our,

Kara Lovehart: yeah.

Madi Murphy: Um, in, 'cause yeah, I'm a cancer rising, but obviously an early one, early degree. And I'm like, so that was like, so exciting. But that was the most nervous I've been for anything in years. And I love that in the process of writing this book and then recording the book and now promoting it, I've had to go back to these same tools I write about in the book.

Like, why not you babe, babe. Someone wants to record their book. Like, my first key, the area is key. Why not me? I'm like, okay. And then my Gemini key is, but why, like, why do things have to be a certain way? Because I'm like, I'm not that like. I stutter, I stammer, I slur my words. My brain is like, it's just moving too fast for my mouth.

And I was like, I am not. Like the book, narrator type, like, I don't know like my podcast. I'm like, oh, I'm talking all over the place and whatever. But this is my people. They get me. I'm like, I can't even leave a voicemail from my doctor without being like, wait, what am I saying?

I'm sorry. Hold on. What? Like, what's the word I'm looking for? And so it was, and of course I like writing this book and I put people's names in this. And vocabulary words that I've never said out loud, and I'm reading it, I'm like, why did I do that? But it was such a good journey to again, meet myself at my own comfort zone edge and tap into the cosmic zone.

And then I got really emotional after walking myself through the Keys because I realized that like, if I'm being really honest, the thing that got me through some of my hardest Moments in life, which is a really great audio book, like Long Walks, long drives, sleepless Nights, I pop in audio books like they're my best friend.

So when I like realized that I got to be that for hopefully someone, it changed the whole game. So yes, it's available. My long way of saying it's on audiobook and I just tried to bring so much love into the recording because like I was like, oh, I hope I get to find someone who's like, late night up with their baby folding laundry, cleaning their house on a long cross country road trip to like.

Start a new chapter of their life and I'm like, oh, I get to be there and like keep them company. That's so cool.

Kara Lovehart: Oh my gosh. Yo your cancer rising, your Pisces moon is just so nourishing. Like, just you even saying that story, I'm like, yes, I want the audio book too now. Um, yeah, no, I love audio books and I'm saying that too because, you know, some people feel that overwhelmed in life and like, I don't have time to read a book.

I don't have the mental power. I look at a computer screen all day, or I'm mentally exhausted at the end of the day. And so your voice is so relaxing. The content isn't super heady where they have to remember all these things. You know, sometimes astrology can get really nerdy and I really love that you're, you're really giving archetypes so that we can empower ourselves.

And trust me, if you guys are joining this book club, right, we are gonna be joining live to discuss this and have a live q and a with Maddie on Thursday, October 23rd, 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. And we're gonna be recording that. So if you're not able to join live, you can watch the recording, you can send questions to us ahead of time, but also you can join us throughout the month in the online community.

And I'm gonna be talking about this, I'm gonna be asking about your archetypes. What are you, what are you resonating with in the book right now? We're gonna go into that. 'Cause we love that so much of our community just loves talking astrology. And you can also listen to Maddie's podcast too.

I'm gonna be sending that as well. I'll be popping things like that in the community too. 'cause I want you to check out her stuff more. 'cause you're just a pleasant, incredible individual and I'm really just excited to meet you. So let's talk about this final question I have here before we move into our final questions.

So one of the things I was thinking about this age of Aquarius. Where we have these rebels, these people that are like, ah, and the island of misfit toys is now coming out to play. Mm-hmm. And there is this interesting transition between Pluto and Capricorn, where it's like tradition and everything is the way it is

I don't even wanna say the cool kids, but there is this kind of vibe of like, this is the way we're supposed to do things. And there is tradition of people being a certain way to be liked, fit in go in line with things, and then you have Aquarius coming in and like, no, we're not gonna follow any of that.

Mm-hmm. And I think the unskillful aspect of Aquarius is they wanna burn everything down, like the rebellious, let's just burn this shit down. But they have no plans. It's not their skillset necessarily to build up something different. What are we building? And that's just an unskillful aspect of Aquarius.

But there's also this kind of like. The need for propulsion from the Capricorn energy to the Aquarius energy, which is moving away from that traditional structures. How can, if we, having this archetype of Aquarius alive in us, in this world right now where we wanna burn this down, or this needs to be done, or like this isn't right, this isn't fair.

You know, this humanitarian part of ourselves that wants people, wants equality and expression for uniqueness. How does that part of that archetype make peace with and not war with this Capricorn energy that we're moving out of? But yes, we need to move out of it. There needs to be a contrast like in a way, but how do we move into a place of not war consciousness with it, um, and accepting temper foreign energy with the characteristics and the skillful aspect of Aquarius.

Madi Murphy: Such a good question, and I'll just give like three bullet points to come back to for this as we're moving forward and really using these as sort of compasses, as we navigate, you know, the next, well, 20 years. But you know, whether it's internally or in our conversations or in our choices or how we're voting or how we're, being in our own communities I guess as the big overarching reminder is, again, we all carry all 12 signs of zodiac within us, and everything has a birth chart.

We're one big living, breathing, you know, we are the planetary poetry in motion. So just like we need Aquarius energy, we still need Capricorn energy. We still need areas energy. We still need all these things even in our society, in our collective consciousness. So there's no like casting away, right?

We're not like done with Capricorn. And you mentioned before that we have Uranus is the modern ruler of Aquarius. But in an ancient or traditional ruler, it's Saturn, which is the same ruler as Capricorn. And I think about that of like, Aquarius is kind of this bridge because there's a fixed energy to Aquarius.

There is a certain need for like structure and certain things, but then it goes into that Iranian energy where we're like moving forward, we're going into the future. We're thinking about things from a higher mind. So the three bullet points I would say is for all of us, I think that the aquarium energy is going to be its best when we are, a rebel with a cause.

Like, um, that rebel without a cause energy. I realized when we had Saturn and Aquarius and Jupiter and Aquarius in 2021, I realized a little bit that Aquarian energy, if it's not rooted. Something like one just wants to burn it down for burn it down's sake or just complain or just wanna be like, oh, I wanna do things differently.

It can get very like, chaotic and disparate. So I was like, okay, rebel with a cause, rebel with a community. And really how we tap into that, in my opinion, is remembering that like, to stay in the heart center and to remember, like, to not, um, forget our humanness in our pursuit for a higher humanity.

Like the heart energy. You know, why are we doing this again? Rebel with a cause. Like who am I doing this for? What's that really look like? What also keeps me in my heart center? Whether that's just realizing that whether if I disagree with someone. Politically, or I'm fed up with the system.

Like we're still humans all here, whether that's like touching grass or you know, sometimes like moving away from the technology and the AI of it all and just being like, oh, making art, making love, like touching grass. What are the things that help me remember my humanness and then see the humanness in other people so I could be, I think a rebel with a really heart-centered cause is a, of how we move through this.

Think about you know, as we move through this aquarion energy, it's so much like aquarion energy is those, like wavelengths is like even in the gli of it, right? It's like so much of like our mind, oh my God, like thoughts to things instant manifestation. So much mind energy, but also so much mind energy of like, again, getting into the heart, getting into the body, but also like tending to our nervous systems.

And like, what do we have to do to learn new ways of being in our nervous system? Because I think that the burn it down conversation, listen, I was like, we'd write it down. Like I've been on the head of that train for a minute, almost a decade now. Like, burn it down. But then I realized, I'm like, well, it's so easy to think about burning it down.

Not easy, but it's like one part of the equation. But I mentioned in the beginning we're also in, and I've been trying to call out this as a reframe, like the joyful re-imagining because it's not just about what are we burning down, but it's like what are we building in its place? But I do think that we need, again, the heart-centered energy to do that, we need to have our nervous systems in the place where we don't go into just despair or overwhelm.

Or like, I'm just wanna like detach and like pull away from society and go live like in a yurt and never talk to anyone ever again. Because I'm like, baby girl baby boy. Like, if you are a heart-centered creative or a visionary or entrepreneur or a leader or a teacher, like, I don't want you hiding.

I need you like in it right now. I need to do in it. Like, um, so I'm like, what do we have to do to tend to our nervous system so we can hold this new vision, right? And truly be the world that we want to experience. And then, you know, the last thing with the aquarium energy is what we started off with saying like, we still need, we are gonna have to have a society that still has structures and rules and policies and all of that, right?

Like, we're not gonna just be like my one teacher says like, we love to like, be harsh on Saturn and Capricorn, especially as like the artists or the free spirits the mystics, but he's like. Life without Saturn would be like, no red lights, like it'd be crashed in, it'd be no gravity. It'd be like being on one big psychedelic trip.

And after a few days it's like, I'm nauseous, I wanna like sit down, I wanna rest. I actually like am craving, it's like being on vacation for too long. We're like, I'm kind of excited to get back into like my routine a little bit or whatever. And so I think it's like, okay, can we think differently about like these structures and can they be soulful and, and can these, you know, certain systems can they actually work to serve us?

But I think to do that, we have to be in community and practice really what it's like to move away from this very kind of toxic, individualistic society that we've. Started in, our Pluto and Capricorn beginnings, especially here in the us. And can we start to realize like what that means, to have structures in place, to have systems in place, but that are communal, right?

That are non-hierarchical, that are serving us, where it's not just like one having power over the many, but that means that we each have to be okay with structures that are like helping each other for real, not just like being on the receiving end, or not just being on the complaining end. So it goes back to community as 0.3, but in a way of thinking about it, like, can I practice that within my friend group in my neighborhood, within community organizations like yours?

Like, how are we gonna build a better world and live in better structures if we're not even like. Able to relate to people or able to sometimes share a little bit of the pie or, go out of our way to help someone and think about things differently. So, um, a long answer as my, you know, son in Mercury conjunct, I'm very windy, long answered.

But like, I think that there's something about remembering your humanness and being red with a cause. There's something about like, you know, being nervous system and regulation so you can be in the joyful re-imagining versus just like the endless complaining and overwhelm. And then like, how do we begin to sort of like, create these microcosms of what we wanna see in just our corner of the world.

Kara Lovehart: Yes. Yes. Oh my gosh. Yes, yes. And don't apologize for the Mercury conjunct. You said you're a long wind in this girl. This is why we can do podcasts and talk with our guests. That's why I love podcasts for a long time. Yeah, this is my same thing. Like I could talk forever. Um, but like, yeah, just to say, you know, really read what you're saying.

Like, guys, this is amazing tools that Add Maddie has. Um, I know Cosmic RX is your online community. You have incredible stuff there that you can tap into. You know, obviously if you're just deep, you're diving, you know, shallow. Go, and this is not shallow, but you wanna just start, you know, brief, go into the in cosmic zone with us, or at any time, of course, listening to this podcast a year later or whatever get the book.

But I think like the thing that you mentioned about, really we need to like the toxicity in our society. Like that's why I said at the beginning, I've been waiting for this. You know, as a medium I have seen working with my clients and working with the community and collective how everyone's energy field is a reflection of their consciousness and that reflection, their consciousness creates or makes their manifestations or their blocks.

And of course, a part of that is their astrology. It's their medical astrology, it's their, it's their transits. It's all the things in their oric field. And when we have toxicity in that ORIC field, which is never gonna completely go away, because it's just where are we not in alignment in that moment. Mm.

And sometimes it's a longstanding pattern that is a mental pattern. Sometimes it's a food pattern that's affecting our, our consciousness or oric field. Whatever these things are, and this is where we need the support of other people. We need these. Mm-hmm. Different tools. Like of course, the Mind Body Detox program, which is where this podcast was birthed from, from my program.

Mm-hmm. And how do we utilize these different tools and integrate them? Just astrology, meditation, nervous system regulation. These are all supportive things that we need right now. And so that segues me into our final podcast questions. Mm-hmm. And, um, you know, knowing a little bit about the program, I have, why my last question's gonna be this last one specifically, but I have two, two questions.

First one is, what is your favorite wellness topic? Self-care indulgence Or maybe even a teacher, an influencer, an author, someone that really is like your shining light or that, that product, that thing that anything you can say all of it you wanna but yeah, what is that for you right now?

Madi Murphy: Hmm.

Kara Lovehart: I think,

Madi Murphy: lemme let me take in a minute here, because as a, like, mutable sign if, like, myself, care is always like.

Moving and flowing with the seasons, actual zodiac seasons for the season of life that I'm in. And right now, um, I have, I'm a mother of two, very well under two. And I think that my self care and, and what I come back to a lot right now is just like, truly like the basics. Like truly like, I'm like, oh, like getting the boys in the stroller and taking a walk or like, and having a little time to have like my audio book at the end of the day to myself, like, just something that helps me like clear my mind come back to me is so huge.

And I think about there's not one specific person that comes to mind online, but I feel like I've been very blessed to be a mother in a time right now where there's a lot of conversations around like, Hey, like you don't have to. Show up perfectly every day. You don't have to show up. You know, it's giving a lot of permission to kind of trust my intuitive flow as a mom.

And I think that like right now, that, yeah, the, the really simple self-care practices are like the one oh ones, like the getting into nature, taking a bath, doing a long, like skincare. I'm not even talking about fancy products. I'm just saying like the act of just like putting on moisturizer like slowly and doing a hair mask have all been really, really, really grounding for me and really nourishing.

And then just having like that voice in my head, that's almost like all the work that I've done on myself has really led to this moment. Like all my tools of astrology, the energy work, learning how to feed myself intuitively, learning how to trust, like rest and not pushing through. I can feel. In moments how it's like, I could choose like the old path.

I'm like, well, I could see how that's, 'cause one of the things I didn't talk about earlier, but my journey to motherhood, it was like, you know, I became a mother for the first time at 39, which is like older by our, whatever medical standards. Um, but it was really empowering for me because it was a long history of women in my family who were like teen mothers or very young mothers and never had their own financial autonomy, their own life.

Like they were just, were like consumed in this motherhood identity, which they rose to the challenge with. But I really feel like one of the biggest blessings I have in my life right now is like, I'm really. Enjoying motherhood as still in my understand my purpose. I have, out of my motherhood, I have different identities.

Wife, cosmic consultant, sister person. So I guess all this to say is just like, it all goes back to astrology too for me of like, understand at this moment in my life right now is a lot of caretaking nurturing, cancer rising, just finished a progressed cancer moon. But that, I'm so grateful to know that like those really simple self-care things that have been compiling over the years, like they're right there in my toolkit to be like, okay, you're starting to feel a little wobbly, starting to feel a little, the nervous system's getting a little shaky there, like pour back in.

And that will infinitely just help me feel more clear, but also like enthusiastic and joyful as a mama.

Kara Lovehart: Yeah. Thank you. And I'm so glad that you knowing your transits, knowing where you're at your archetypes right now, like knowing what makes sense to lean into God. I wish I would've had it back when I had like three progressed planets in cancer in my life.

So I was that over nurture that over giver. Oh man. Emotional and like never time for me. And those simple practices you're doing, like when I started to get it, even though I didn't have the astrological facts at the time, they seemed like, and I would look at everyone else like, oh my God, but they're doing so many things and this and that.

I should be doing this. You know, be aware when you compare. But that simplicity, I think a lot of our listeners too. Like it is sometimes just going back to the basics and that can make a profound difference. So thank you for sharing that. That

Madi Murphy: is so so the medicine of the moment for me.

Kara Lovehart: Yeah.

Well, our last question is if you could detox one thing in your life or the world right now, what would it be?

Madi Murphy: There's so much I could say for the world. Um, but I'll, I'll put the, on myself. I think the thing about detox for myself is falling sometimes by the wayside of overwhelmed, I can get overwhelmed really easily.

And the thing that I've been really focusing on lately is just presence. And whenever I tune back into presence and also reflecting back that like all the moments of life that I felt like I was overwhelmed were actually some of the best things that were happening. And really like trusted into that.

'cause when I personally get overwhelmed, that's like my number one way I get out of my power.

Kara Lovehart: Yeah,

Madi Murphy: just so lately, like whenever I feel that, come on, I'm like, okay. Just, pushing all that at bay a little bit through mindset work, through embodiment work. Um, that's one thing that I'm always looking to, to detox because I don't know, maybe similar to you with your Gemini rising, but like, I feel like the mutable signs, we just like to take on a lot and all of a sudden I'm like, yeah, why did I take on all of this?

But it actually feels good. I like doing a lot of things at once, but I wanna do it with presence and power, not overwhelm.

Kara Lovehart: Yeah. And you know, during every season now I have this understanding in the cycle of Aries season, when it comes, that's when I have to be very mindful because that's when I'm like, oh, I wanna take on the project in Aries season, and too many things.

And then I'm like. Six months later. 'cause I took it on for six months or even into November, December of that year. I'm like, why did I do this back in airy season? Why did I do this? But I have a lot of progressed planets in Gemini right now. So it is like nervous system regulation. Part of my journey is like I had lead poisoning as a kid.

That's part of why I am a medium. I was. You know, in this lot of toxicity in my body, which created disassociated, which created this connection to the unconscious mind or energy fields and how I see things and the nervous system regulation, something, that system that we have now in the world, like whether it's somatic healing or whether it's yoga or breath work or even food.

For me, I had to detox sugar in caffeine 'cause it totally heightened me and I couldn't handle it. Being, being a channel and being very sensitive in my nervous system. You know, all the medical astrology stuff that that's really a real thing. But I'm really glad you talked about that because that is something that collectively, and it makes sense with all the Pluto and Aquarius energy too, that is nervous system stuff.

So I encourage you all what Maddie said, like it is important to take that time to be present, to slow down, to take a breath. The FOMO thing is real. We feel like we're missing out and we have to keep doing. Mm-hmm. Or keep engaging in information. And the mental body. And I think that's where, if you get too much of it, I think sometimes people just go all in and then they don't find balance until they're like completely burned out.

I'm just saying, don't do it before you're burned out. 'cause burnout's usually, if it has to happen in your journey, it will, 'cause then it'll teach you never do that again and you won't go that far in it. But yeah, the nervous system regulation is key and I am so incredibly grateful for my practices as well.

And yeah, we're gonna just keep on doing it and taking a breath and being present and incredible and doing the incredible work that we're doing. You know, you're doing amazing building work and everyone out there who's listening, you are doing your individual work and this vision you have. So, but yeah.
